palmer_kunSo today, I set out to go shopping for one specific item. I came home having spent more than I budgeted, and without the desired item.
I want an 802.11g wireless networking PCI card. Now, there are USB adaptors galore out there, bt those require USB 2.0
I only have USB 1.1, wo they wouldn't work very fast, which defeats the purpose. I need an actual PCI card.
I see them on stores websites for about 50 bucks. Yay. Shall go to Future Slop and get one. Maybe pay up to 60.
Get there, and find they only have USB adaptors. And after searching... ONE model of PCI card. Which is $90. Which is grossly overpriced.
Head to Walmart. Had idea to look into a new cheap pair of runners as my shoes are nearly dead.
Thanks to Alexis's sharp eye for bargains, I came out $80 shorter, but with...
New pair of nice looking steel toed runners. These are great for light jobs where I need the toes, but not the heavy boots.
Original price: $100
Marked down to: $30. SCORE.
Then find another pair of regular runners for $15. Yay!
Other acquisitions: Travel Cranium (seriously) for 5 bucks. Some underwear (always need that). And some GOOD EARBUD HEADPHONES.
My long search for some has ended! They use expanding rubber plus to sit in the ear, which means they fit snug and DON'T FALL OUT. They also sound good. And they were only 5 bucks!
I bought 3 pairs. Am considering more while I know they're availaible. Obsessive? Maybe. But I've been trying to find reasonably priced, GOOD earbuds like this for YEARS. My ears have a slightly odd shape, so many headphones are uncomfortable. I siply cannot wear behind the neck or over the ear types. I can hear full ear-covering types, but when i'm at work, I need to be unobtrusive, so it's earbuds or nothing. I have three pairs in case some break or get lost.
Seriously, this is an item off my xmas list now. A momentous occaision. Seriously.
I also got new socks last week. They made me excessively happy. I love new socks.
I am a sad, pathetic person. I know.
