First, the non-work stuff for those of you who don't care.

Had an amusing conversation with kiddo's mother, regarding his adjusting to living there.

[livejournal.com profile] sunlit_mists: Our son, hates me, hates living here, hates you cause you have to work, hates Reg cause Reg makes you work (?) and really doesn't like my rules, wants me to make better rules, but did decide he would like a new lunchbag for his new school today.
[livejournal.com profile] sunlit_mists: yeah, he is ummmm trying...
[livejournal.com profile] sunlit_mists: so we bought a new lunch bag, and he seems happyish. even if my rules do suck.

Nothing much to say about work today. Was up on Westwood Plateau. How yuppie.
Was with On Side Restoration. House flooded. I seem to get a lot of restoration lately. But that's good, because it seems to be what I can handle.
I guess my angst last week was misplaced. Yesterday, Target called me TWICE leaving messages saying they needed me for this job urgently.
I could take that as a good sign, or I could twist it negatively. I'll leave it positive.

Spent most of the day hauling garbage to the truck. Wet carpet, wet underlay, wet drywall.

Very very dusty wet drywall. Dust, dirt and grit. All over me, Getting on my skin under my shirt. Rubbing me red. Getting in my eyes. Making my clothes all white. And soggy. VERY soggy. Lots of water, oy. By first break (2 hours) my pants were so wet you could have wrung them out.

Things got drier after that, but more dusty. In the eyes fairly often too, blah. My boots are mostly white now from the drywall.

Things got broken up a bit in the middle as I got a big bad scraper thing to scrape some glued down underlay off the floor (and cart it out, duh). And then I got to use a crowbar to pry baseboard off the walls, which was mildly fun. And then I hauled out the baseboard (what a shock).

They ran out of work for me after 6 hours. Pooey. So I went home, stripped naked, and soaked in the tub for... I have no idea how long. I think I fell asleep. Then I showered off and washed all that nasty drywall dust and particulate out of my hair. BLAH.

Target wants be down in Vancouver to do much the same work as I did today, for the same company. This will entail waking up rather early. Oh well, it's money.

Quick question: When you worked in that one place, and all the fans were going, and there was fiberglas insulation (your eyes itched) Did you have or were provided a mask? If so what type?
