I got very little because my oh so darling son has been an ABSOLUTE FUCKTARD ALL MORNING
He woke me up at 7am, after I'd been asleep for like only an hour. Oh no, the fact I had been awake for over 40 hours does NOT mean I can easily get to sleep after laying down. That would be too easy for Jayson. I finally get to sleep, and get woken up noticably earlier than he normally gets up.

He wanted me to hook up one of the video games, which is no biggie. So I get out in the living room, I have the thing in hand, and he starts acting weird. Can't really describe his behaviour, but it's WTFy.

Me: "Do you want me to hook this up?"
Him: *silence*
Me: "Do you want me to hook this up?"
Him: *silence*
Me: "Do you want me to hook this up? Answer me, yes or no"
Him: *more silence*
Repeat several times

I finally have enough of it, and count to 3. "Answer me, yes or no. One. Yes or no. Two. Yes or no..."
And at the last minute, he does this little spazzy dance and POINTS at it.
But still SAYS NOTHING. PERFECTLY SILENT.

He got yelled at, the game was put away, and I went back to bed FURIOUS. Can I get back to sleep?

HELL NO. Of course not. Nothing simple for me.

I do manage to get zoned out.

A couple hours later? He wants breakfast. OK...

Does he wake me up by saying "Daddy get up"?

You should know the answer to this.

Of course not! He starts shoving me around instead!

So we sit down and have a Talk about why he wouldn't answer me earlier. He knows that he will NEVER get in trouble for answering my questions (unless he lies). But he also knows will ALWAYS get in trouble for not answering at all.

I ended up getting 90% no answers AGAIN. And 10% various answers that were obvious LIES. Including contradicting his own answers. AND refusing to answer a question he already answered once!

So in the end, I was sick and FUCKING TIRED of it.

His video games have been taken away. His favouritest things to play with in the world.

POOF. Gone. I haven't even just unplugged them like I normally do. I physically unhooked them and removed the consoles.

Him? Waterworks. My reaction? "Stop crying about the video games or you never get them back." Yeah, my tolerance level is NEGATIVE right now.

So I've had VERY little sleep. My knee joints are in wicked fucking STABBITY pain. Oh yeah, lets not forget the migraine.

Both being suffered by The Man Immune To Painkillers. Yeah.

I *can't* get back to sleep even if I wanted to, because I'm now wide awake and he's up.

I'm fucking even more stressed on top of yesterday now (No, I'm not getting into yesterday. I didn't post about t for a reason. Anyone who asks will get disemboweled with a spork. Hear me?)

I did NOT need this shit!!!

So yeah. Fair warning to anyone. Annoy me on pain of death.
Hell, be NICE to me at your own risk.

- - -

I suppose I should clarify. I am not saying "Grr! Go away, leave me alone!"

I am saying "Be warned. I am rather testy today. If you choose to talk to me, I may become quite upset and bite your head off over something that I wouldn't even notice (let alone be annoyed by) on a normal day."

For the most part, I am fine, and would welcome company. However, I won't necessarily make good company, so no guarantees.

Why were you up for 40 hours?

The "conversation" you had with your son is something that I go through with customers on a regular basis-the inability of some people to answer "yes" or "no" is mind-boggling.

Insomnia. I was just up late, then "OMG how the fuck did it become 9am?"

Most customers, even the moronic ones, tend to at least give you SOME response, rather than absolute stone-faced silence.

I feel your pain...

My daughter would rather die at gun point (not literally) than to answer a simple question sometimes. I say we get them both jobs with the CIA

There is only one possible response for that.

He kind of annoyed me, actually... maybe it was his voice.

Strindberg is OH SO EMO! though. Whiny wannabe goths could take SO many lessons from him.

Eh, I'll survive, assuming he cleans up his act some time soon (which, after our brief trip to the bank, seems less likely).

And on top of this, I can't go to Monday night gaming because I'll have him here (I don't normally on Mondays) Blah.

You ever find your Dresden Dolls CD?

Blah. It just seems like a bad weekend for everyone.

I found and downloaded the first album a month ago (solely because you mentioned them) and rather enjoyed it, though I haven't listened to them that much since then.

I was just mentioning them to Alli this morning, and she's like "I have both albums and the poster on my wall, so yeah :)"

Do you get migraines often? I got some stuff from the States (Excedrin for migraines), it's not sold in Canada, but it's fuckin awesome. It's the only stuff that will actually get rid of mine. They have caffiene in them, so they sometimes make me a bit jumpy, but other than that, they work. If you want I could put some in a bottle and give them to Ryan or Larissa and they could give them to you on Tuesday boardgames (if you're going) if you would like. If you take one or two (no more than two), I can almost guarentee that your headache will be gone.

That's certainly a generous offer. It's by no means required... I manage my head pain (which is more or less constant) fairly well. The migraines themselves are quite infrequent.

Heh. Caffeine? I'm immune to caffeine and other stimulants, as a rule. Amphetamines (prescription) tend to make me drowsy, not wired :)

Ultimately... up to you.

I do plan to be there Tuesday though. Pity you're not coming.

What brings you by my LJ anyways? Just curious...

Excedrine Migraine = Caffeine, Acetominophen (Tylenol), and Aspirin. Caffeine when taken in conjunction with other medications acts as a catalyst.

Personally, excedrine usually does very little for me with a true migraine, unless I take it along with a migraine pill. Unfortunately, migraine prescriptions are fucking expensive. (As in, the one I'm on is around $12 a pill... if I didn't have insurance, I could never afford it.)

That said, certainly worth giving the excedrine a try.

kids can SUCK ASS when they pull that crap. my daughter does that sometimes and i tell her to go to her room for the rest of her life (she knows i don't mean it, i just mean until i calm down and stop being so angry and until she thinks about the right way to behave, she's pretty good about understanding mad mommy speech).

i feel ya, man. remember how our parents have bald patches and wrinkles? this is WHY. i swear to you. my students amplify the situation. i'm going to be a billion year old fossil by the time i'm 32.

And he just chose the worst time to do it. Any other weekend, and it wouldn't have warranted a post.

That would be among the reasons that I will never EVER have kids... I have far less tolerance and no patience at all... I couldn't even keep a cat, it demanded too much attention.

Actually, he's a REALLY good kid. He has some off days, and this was a particularly bad one, but as a rule he's really well behaved and an absolute darling.

Everyone has an off day. Most people tend to be nasty with them. He's just annoying.

This entry is over a month and a half old. He's been a darling since then.

*nods* I know... But I have way no patience with kids... or anything that demands my time and attention when I'm not in the mood to give it... i'm fine with other people's kids, cause when I get to the grrr point, I just give them back to mommy and daddy :)
