Really, I don't. People make such a big deal out of it, but it's nothing.

In an ideal world, everyone would forget my birthday. Alas, this world is not ideal.
[livejournal.com profile] glowing_dragon remembered, of course. But she's the Birthday Queen.
The Three remembered, but that's not surprising. If the terrible trio of [livejournal.com profile] allichaton, [livejournal.com profile] jamileigh17 and [livejournal.com profile] anrakushi didn't remember, I'd have something to worry about.
[livejournal.com profile] eyesofrage was the first to mention it. Damn forum reminders.
And yet again, thanks to forum reminders, Burro on Therfs made me a thread (doesn't help that his is the 11th)

Did worse this year than last... http://www.livejournal.com/users/palmer_kun/5716.html

Oh well. And now I go for job interview at Canadian Tire tomorrow. Yay.

Well, why shouldn't we celebrate the day someone we love dearly was born? If you hadn't been born, then there would be no Three, and no one to dip in chocolate, and that's reason enough for me to want to celebrate.

What's more important?

That I was born?

Or that I'm still alive?

How about the fact I turned out the way I am, instead of like someone else?

I could have easily been dead by now, several times over. And I could have just as easily been someone like Erik, or worse.

What real significance does my birth have compared to the events which made me who I am today?

Those events would be moot if you hadn't been born to begin with.

They could have happened to someone else, someone much better looking and more successful than I.

But they didn't happen to someone else, they happened to you.

And you know what?

I love you.

So deal with it.

More a matter of, my birthday has gone under the radar so many times (and I HATE that) that I want to make sure everyone feels remembered on their special day.

However, it's not a special day to me. I don't particularly like it.
I'm all good with everyone else's - just not mine.

And no, there's no rational reason for this.

Besides, I'm old enough as it is, I don't wanna be older!

AARRRRGH!!!! I can't BELIEVE I missed your birthday! I NEVER miss birthdays!

You're going to throw something sharp at me if I say the obligatory two words, aren't you?

Happy Annual Celebration of the Day of Your Liberation from Your Mother's Womb!

Is that better?

Well... for that to be useful, I'd actually have to know it existed beforehand, now wouldn't I? :p

I have a list on my computer with all the birthdays I need to remember, and yours is on it, but somehow... meh.

I just don't talk about it in the month or so leading up to it.

Happy B-day Jayson. *takes on a raid of the local churches and sings the SCA b-day song all the while* I know you don't like it but think of it as an excuse for people to throw presents at you or to pillage said presents from people. *huggels*

Bright blessings

Nothing wrong with a little pillaging though.

Yes, I am the Birthday Queen. But I didn't stick this moniker on myself. That was Jason and Keith. It's been reinforced over the years... "Wow! How do you remember everyone's birthday?! You ARE the Birthday Queen!"

Best of luck on the interview!

(Canadian Tire reminds me of what happened a few years ago, but then that would make this a REALLY LONG comment, so I won't tell you. :P)

If you hate your birthday so much, then why are you writing an entry about it? :P

Well, you don't ever have to worry about me wishing you a happy birthday-I always forget people's birthdays. If I do remember, it's usually a few days prior, and then I forget on the day of.

I don't celebrate my birthday, but that's because in the past, I haven't had any friends to celebrate with. I did try something last year, but it was a disaster. I'd love it if someone threw me a party though...

Mostly I post it to give people a place to say "Oh! Happy belated birthday!" because they like that kind of thing. Partially it's to gloat and thumb my nose at everyone who swears they'll remember and don't :)

Heh. Your birthday is the day after one of my darlings.

Hrmm... may have to start planning something with [livejournal.com profile] winterlion, [livejournal.com profile] catmcroy and Dave...

Twas just a pre-screening. Testing and such. They call us back for actual interviews next week. I totally aced one section of the test where another woman had trouble, and the third person got NONE of them.

Simple stuff like
1 2 3 2 1
2 3 4 3 2
3 4 5 4 3
_ _ _ _ _

She got none. Not even the first one, which was A B C D E _

Sure, some were tricky at the end, but I got them all in under 3 seconds. She just sat there and stared at the screen (it was timed, and administered by video) confused. Oy.

Met a nice girl (one of the two who was applying, the one who did better) who lives nearby and has a kid not much older than Chris in the same school though. Got her number even :)

Jayson, I know you'd probably prefer to be tied up and spanked by a woman, but y'know what? Keep making comments like this, and that's not how it's gonna happen.

Also, I'd be spanking you with the bumper and grille of a '74 Chevy Impala.

Happy late birthday, ya freakin' Canuck curmudgeon!

The thing is, my women DO want to tie me up and spank me!
Though if I really annoy them, they'll tie me up and refuse to spank me :)

They're used to it from me, that exchange was mostly formality.

Why is it every time you come into my LJ, you try to kill me in some manner?

I do strive to be curmudgeonly, but I'm not as good as I used to be these days :)
