How does this happen to me?

OK, so most of you know that I've been doing a complete revision of the Deeds Not Words rules (d20 System Superheo ruleset) as a hobby project.
Took advantage of the Open Game Content stuff, and similarness. This was because Scott Lynch, creator, was no longer supporting the system, but I think it needed work.

So this weekend, I got an email from Scott. He tells me that due to the direction his life has taken, he no longer has the time to dedicate to DNW like he used to. Or, really, no time at all.
The long and the short of this email is that Scott has granted me (Jayson Stevens aka Palmer aka![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
palmer_kun aka DNW Fanboy #1) a full license to freely (without royalties) use ANY of the DNW material (except the art, but you can fill that void, eh Kas?) whatsoever in any projects and products I please. He retains ownership of the intellectual property... but I can legally use all of it as if it were my own.
In essence, I now control the future of Deeds Not Words.
This is damn freaky... Yeah... wild stuff.
But seriously... how does this stuff happen to me? I don't understand it.
