Yeah, people have probably noticed that I haven't been around for a while.

I spent the night at Christine's on Thursday... totally unplanned (she had other plans for that night, in fact, but they fell through) and it was good.

Now it's Friday, and Christine is here. For the night. And while I'm catching up on 2 days of email, she's making dinner... stir-fry!

I am stressed because of Christopher. Lets just say I am NOT PLEASED with his performance tonight... I'd had an excellent couple of days, and then he has to act like a little fucking asshole and go out of his way to RUIN everything. Now I can't even damn well see straight because of the pounding tension headache he gave me.

And no, "he's just a kid" does NOT excuse what he did. Nothing excuses swatting a medicine cup out of my hand, kicking and punching me, and spitting the medicine back in my face. This is the first and ONLY time he's ever pulled this shit on me.

I'm lucky Christine is a very laid-back and tolerant person... she's telling me things are OK while I'm lying face down on the bed wallowing in self-disgust.

I don't deserve her.

Not even close.

Maybe its just that he isn't adjusting to change well? I know that when kids have a life for a while that they think is normal, they go spaztic when it changes. (Hell many adults do too)

He could just be mal adapting. He'll get over it, not really anyone's fault right? (Just an opinion, I'm not anywhere CLOSE to telling you what to do with your kid, cause I don't have em and I am SO not mature enough to)

All it came down to was a sudden turnaround refusal to drink one teaspoon of allergy medication... he had pineapple last night, and broke out in hives, so I went to give him some to help, and he suddenly went spastic on me.

I don't see what he would be maladjusting to... there wasn't anything to adjust to! There weren't any changes or anything, really. Just him being an asshole.

*sighs*

Kelsy, the new woman? Those things really effect kids so I am told.

I know that when my mom got a new boyfreind I was really cold to them. (I loathed her second husband, but thats another story) And I was older.

So maybe its the same thing, only he's not old enough to react the way I did?

He's adjusted very well to Christine... he really likes her a lot.
Plus he rarely sees her... he's only seen her 3 times, and 2 of them were for like, an hour before he went to bed.

He was kinda disappointed when she finally had to leave.

Normally I have NO trouble getting him to take meds at all, that's the thing. This was a bizzare, incomprehensible reaction.

And Christine isn't an issue. He adores her already, and when he saw her this morning, he went "Oh hi Christine. Did you have a sleep-over here?" She said yes, and he went "That's fun!" and then went about his business.

I am not cool. Hot and sweaty maybe, but not cool.

Hey, come on...

Kids do act up. You gotta admit that. And you KNOW you're going to ensure this will be the only time it's going to happen. Stop the self-disgust, you can't be the perfect dad with the perfect kid all the time. *HUGS*
